Road work this week: October 5 to 11

East 8th Street in Holland stays closed between US-31 and Waverly Road through the end of October while the Board of Public Works replaces the water main under it. On the north side of Holland Township, 120th Avenue and James Street are closed for sewer work into November, and the 104th Avenue bridge over Black Creek is out until the end of November. In Georgetown and Blendon townships the 48th Avenue corridor and its new roundabout at Baldwin Street stay closed, and three resurfacing jobs start Monday. On I-196 near Saugatuck, the Old Allegan Road bridge is closed through mid-November, with overnight freeway closures coming the week after this one.

The Allegan County Road Commission lists no new closures on its website this week; its day-to-day closure notices go out on its Facebook page, and its 2026 project list shows a culvert replacement at 62nd Street and Blue Star Highway bid in September. The closed section of Lakeshore Drive in Saugatuck Township stays closed while the Road Commission pursues federal funding to rebuild it.
